Free Things to do
BYU-Idaho offers some of the cheapest tuition in the country, but that doesn’t mean you’re not living on a budget. Looking for ways to spend your days/weeks/weekends without spending any dough?. Here’s a couple ideas:
BYUI-I Center Courts – The BYU-I Center offers 10 full sized basketball courts where there’s always something going on. Basketball isn’t the only sport offered on the courts. Volleyball, Dodge ball, and Tight Rope Walking. All you have to do is purchase the BYU-I approved exercise clothing. You’ll only spend about $25 on the outfit, but you’ll definitely get your money’s worth out of the outfit if you use it all four years.

Rexburg Unplugged – While many of the activities in Rexburg are offered year round, the community hosts an event every year near the end of September called Rexburg Unplugged. This is an event where many if not all of the local businesses set-up stands and promote themselves. It’s a great way to get a ton of discounts and free stuff. Mark your calendar, and when the event rolls around, grab you friends and be prepared to have a great afternoon.

Bonfire and S'mores – If you’re not here for Rexburg Unplugged, don’t worry, because you still have options. Eagle Park Campground is a camping site located on the edge of Rexburg where the people who maintain the grounds supply most of what you need to have a bonfire. The campground is open all-year round, so all you have to do is snag the ingredients for s’mores and your friends. With these three components the evening will be a guaranteed success (as long as you check the weather beforehand).
