Things to do a Little Outside of Rexburg
Yes, you love Rexburg, but maybe you've decided you want to get out of the bubble and find something to do that isn’t too far away. Well, look no further, because we’ve got some awesome ideas here. One of the most common places students go to get out of this tiny town is the sand dunes in St. Anthony. They’re close by, but far enough away to get out of view of the campus and have some real fun!
Shopping and Grabbing a Bite to Eat – If you’re dying to do some intense shopping, the Grand Teton Mall in Idaho Falls should be your first stop. The mall has all the major stores that you need, and it’s a great place to kill time while not being too far from town. While you’re down there, you can also hit up a restaurant that Rexburg is deprived of—such as Texas Roadhouse or Olive Garden. Grab some lunch, and then hit the stores and shop til you drop!

Bear World – If you’re driving back from Idaho Falls and your desire to see woodland animals is overwhelming, you’ll always pass Bear World, the Yellowstone-sponsored drive-thru bear park. You don’t have to leave the comfort of your car and you can go on a little safari with all your friends!
Lava Hot Springs – If you have a severe fear of bears, then maybe a nice dip in the Lava Hot Springs will calm your nerves. In the winter, not much sounds better than relaxing in hot water with some good friends. It’s only about two hours outside of Rexburg—easy to make a day trip out of it. |
