Apple Orchard - Okay! Say you had fun at I-Night and now you want to get together with your friends again, but don’t have any ideas about what you can do. Take a stroll on up to the Apple Orchard, which is located behind the Ricks building, and pick some apples from the trees. There are tens, if not hundreds of types of apples to choose from. The apples only cost .50 cents/lb. When you all have decided you’ve picked enough apples, head back to your apartment. From there, challenge your friends to an apple cook/bake-off and see who can create the best dish. You might not all be master chefs, but you’ll definitely have a good laugh and become closer with your new friends.
Social Activities - Not really into channeling your inner chef, but know that you love to have a good time? Pay attention to the posters and signs labeled “Social Activities.” The Social Activities Committee usually puts on an event most of the weeks in the semester. The activities range from learning how to give a massage, to fixing your car. If you’re feeling apprehensive, don’t worry, because although it may seem awkward, you always learn something new and it’s a great way to meet new people.

The Uprising - Okay, so here’s your thought process: You find that you spend most of your days on campus, whether that means going to class or studying; either way you just know that you want to spend your free time somewhere else, and that’s great! Rexburg gives you the opportunity to try lots of new things and have fun. Here are three activities or organizations you should consider when looking for things to do off campus.
Ever heard of a group called The Uprising? Whether you have or not, find them on Facebook and like their page. They come to town once a semester and host one of the biggest dance parties around. In the Fall of 2013, they brought the fun and the music to town with a boat load of paint, and they’re sure to do it again. Tickets cost a little more than $10, but the price is worth the fun.
